The author investigates the close tangential approximations of the Riemann zeta-function. He shows that these approximations may have a different universality property, and do not satisfy the Riemann hypothesis. Also, the author studies the set of functions with universality in the Birkhoff sense and satisfying the well-known properties of the Riemann zeta-function as the meromorphicity in \(\mathbb C\), the symmetry relation and the functional equation.
