The authors solve a finite-part integral equation by a collocation method based on the midpoint rule. The integral is approximated by the midpoint rule. The inverse of the coefficient matrix of the resulting linear system for the integral equation is explicitly expressed. Thus, some error estimates are given. Some numerical examples are also presented.
