The authors determine all geometric hyperplanes of the near hexagon \(L_3 \times GQ(2,2)\), where \(|L_3|=3\) and \(GQ(2,2)\) is the generalized quadrangle of order 2 (this is motivated by potential applications in quantum physics). There are 1023 such hyperplanes, which fall into 8 classes.
