The authors consider a model describing the flow past a wing aligned at a small angle. They show that the standard approach based on Euler flow is not sufficient to model the reality and leads to unphysical evaluation for the forces on the body. The effects caused by the viscosity, i.e. the Navier--Stokes flow, must be taken into account in three space dimensions; the normal force computed from the Euler flow is half of the total and the normal force is infinite. The calculation of the force is done using Maple software and is included in the paper.
