The main goal of the paper is to develop some classical results of spectral theory of differential operators, such as eigenfunction expansion theory, for discrete symplectic systems. The fundamental result of the paper is Theorem 3.3, which contains the formula for the eigenfunction expansion and the Parseval identity. Interesting examples are given.
