Applying the classical Banach fixed point theorem the authors prove that a set-valued function satisfying a general linear functional inclusion admits a unique selection fulfilling the corresponding functional equation. The main theorem and also the method of its proof are used for the investigation of the Rassias stability of general linear functional equations.
