This paper is mainly concerned with the null controllability of a free boundary problem for the classical 1D heat equation governed by a multiplicative control, locally supported in space. Authors show that for a class of nonnegative initial state, there exists a piecewise control that derives the state exactly to rest at time \(t=T\).
