The author derives sufficient criteria for asymptotic stability of time-varying switched systems with the help of indefinite difference Lyapunov functions and multiple indefinite difference Lyapunov functions. The results can be used to analyze the stability of a switched system with asymptotically stable subsystems and arbitrary switching signal, as well as with unstable subsystems and a given switching signal. Several examples are discussed to illustrate the results.
