A versatile load balancing framework for parallel applications based on domain decomposition (English)
0 references
Presentation of a dynamic load balancing framework on dedicated and non-dedicated parallel computers that may be homogeneous or nonhomogeneous (e.g. a cluster of different workstations). Investigation of diffusion and tiling algorithms for load balancing, based on block partitioning domain decomposition. The example of a program for the finite element method applied to a loaded plate with explicit time stepping and only simulated mesh refinement on a T3E and on a workstation cluster is only of limited value.
