The interesting results of \textit{R. P. Osborne} and \textit{R. S. Stevens} on 2 generator presentations [Am. J. Math. 96, No. 3, 454-471 (1974; Zbl 0299.57001); Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 234, 213-243 (1977; Zbl 0375.57001)] are generalized to any finite number of generators. Roughly speaking, the results delimit the number of different exponents that a generator can have in the set of relators, provided the presentation is reduced and ``syllable reduced''.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0940.00028].
