The paper represents a well-written expository overview of the different aspects of fuzzy equivalence relations (FER). The authors present several different ways to generate FER (transitive closure, representation theorem using a family of fuzzy subsets to construct FER and a construction of decomposable FER). A part of the paper is devoted to build up relations between various pseudometrics and FER.
