Local positivity, measured by means of Seshadri constants, has attracted considerable interest in recent years. While a number of interesting bounds are available by now, exact values of Seshadri constants are known only in very few cases, e.g. for generic abelian surfaces. As a first step towards understanding higher-dimensional phenomena, the present paper gives a complete picture for principally polarized abelian three-folds. Somewhat surprisingly, all possible values of the Seshadri constants in this case turn out to be rational numbers.
