The present paper is devoted to a systematic investigation of piecewise smooth systems, using an analogy with the theory of smooth dynamical systems. The main subject of this study is the structure of singularities, more precisely their structural stability. The normal forms of singularities in general position on a manifold with boundary and with breaks in general position are obtained.
