Fundamental instabilities in spatially-developing wing wakes and temporally-developing vortex pairs (English)
0 references
The paper presents selected experimental results on the spatial development of trailing vortices behind delta wings and on the temporal development of counter-rotating vortex pairs. The authors give a complete comparison of instability growth rates for short-wave and long-wave instabilities measured experimentally with those predicted from the theory. The agreement is found to be very good for both types of vortices under study.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0954.00054].
