The author relates semigroup compactifications of a locally compact group \(G\) to its continuous unitary representations. Next, he shows that when the representation happens to be the left regular representation of \(G\), the compactifications obtained coincide with some well-known semigroup compactifications of \(G\). Finally, he gives some concrete examples of such compactifications.
