This memoir provides a new treatment of results relating the representation theory of the finite general linear groups to that of the quantum general linear groups, due originally to Dipper and James.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe new approach leads to many new developments, including explicit connections between tensor products in the quantum situation and Harish-Chandra induction in the classical situation.
