Karageorghis}, ibid. 36, No. 5, 1435-1465 (1999; Zbl 0932.65118).]NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINESpectral element discretizations of the bilaplacian equation in a disk with discontinuous boundary data are considered. By an appropriate variational formulation a discrete problem is derived and its convergence is shown. By weighted Sobolev spaces the order of convergence for discontinuous boundary data is improved. The theoretical results are confirmed by numerical experiments.
