    This book is a clear and excellent guide for beginners how to use SPSS for Windows, versions 8 to 10. SPSS is computer package which is widely used for analysing quantitative data.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe first part of the book provides some basic information about SPSS, including the input of data, data manipulation, creating and printing graphs and charts. Chapter 2 gives a brief summary of the principles of statistical analysis.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEAfter Chapters 3 to 13, presenting some preliminary points like data files, graphs, ranking and sorting data, and selecting subgroups for analysis, Chapters 14 to 20 deal with various types of statistical analysis: parametric tests including \(t\)-tests, ANOVA, GLM; correlation, regression and factor analysis; nonparametric tests and chi square; reliability. It is explained how to obtain the procedures and how to read the print out (Chapter 21). The book contains a lot of detailed worked examples. For this edition, all the examples have been re-analysed using SPSS for Windows, version \(q\). A disk is provided with the book.
