Some recent results on packing and convering with incongruent circles (Q2707493)

This is a nice survey on packings and coverings of the Euclidean plane or the unit sphere with not necessarily congruent circles. The concept of solid packing (covering) is central in this context. Section 2 deals with solid and nonsolid packings and coverings in the plane. Results of Féjès Tòth and of his conjecture are discussed. Sufficient conditions for the solidity of covering of exactly two different sizes are described.
