Renormalization of interacting diffusions (English)
0 references
It is the object of statistical physics to derive the macroscopic behavior of stochastic physical systems on large space-time scales from its composition of a large number of locally interacting constituents. A basic task is to explain universality, i.e. the fact that the large scale behaviour does not depend on the details of the interaction. One way to show this is the method of renormalization by taking block averages along a sequence of increasing space-time scales. The author explains this procedure by a class of interacting diffusions on the hierarchical lattice.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0948.00013].
