Morse theory for Hamiltonian systems (English)

The aim of this book is to give a unified exposition of a diversity of results based on new techniques of critical point theory (based on Benci and Rabinowitz's linking theorem, Amann's saddle point reduction and Galerkin's reduction) and connected to the existence of periodic orbits of Hamiltonian systems, not close to complete integrability. The book consists of the chapters: 1. The Maslov index. 2. The relative Morse index. 3. Functional setting. 4. Superquadratic Hamiltonians. 5. Asymptotically linear systems. 6. The Arnold conjecture for symplectic fixed points. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINESome applications are also considered.
