This paper is a result of a number of lectures given by the author at Trondheim, Leeds and Toronto.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEUnder the Chapter headings: Introduction, Local to global, Increase in dimension, Commutative to noncommutative, Linear to nonlinear, Homology theory, \(K\)-theory, Lie groups and Impact of physics, a listing of new, most important achievements, with very concise commentaries, has been given.
