The authors give an interesting proof of the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability for the mean value type functional equation of the form NEWLINE\[NEWLINEf(x)-g(y)=(x-y)h(x+y),NEWLINE\]NEWLINE which arises from the mean value theorem. The functional equation under consideration is of particular value in both calculus and geometry.
