Using Boussinesq equations and calculating velocities on the base of Darcy's law, the authors investigate steady two-dimensional free convection around line heat sources and heated cylinders in unbounded saturated porous media. The formulation also accounts for the effects of forced convection. Asymptotic forms of solution are derived for large and small distances to the heat source. Asymptotic analysis is complimented by a numerical solution for circular cylinders in a wide range of Rayleigh number. Some representative values of this free stream velocity and the angle of inclination, with the vertical correlations of Nusselt number, are given in the limiting cases of pure free and pure forced convection.
