The purpose of the paper is to recover the main result of \textit{N. Shioji} and \textit{W. Takahashi} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 125, No. 12, 3641-3645 (1997; Zbl 0888.47034)] regarding the convergence of the following iteration process for nonexpansive mappings: NEWLINE\[NEWLINEx_{n+1}=\alpha_n x_0 + (1-\alpha_n)T(x_n), n=0,1,\dots,NEWLINE\]NEWLINE without using Banach's limit technique.
