Exact solutions for the large axially symmetric deformations of a neo-Hookean rod subjected to static loads (English)

The authors deal with a neo-Hookean rod with one end fixed and the other end subjected to a static load. A one-dimensional rod equation is derived to study large axisymmetric deformations. The solutions of this equations are expressed in a closed form through elliptic integrals of the first and third kind. Graphic results are presented, and interesting mechanical phenomena are put into evidence.
