Technique of checking missed eigenvalues for eigenproblem with damping matrix (English)
0 references
When damping coefficients are different in different parts of a structure, the dynamic response can be investigated by solving the eigenvalue problem for complex matrix which consists of stiffness matrix and damping matrix. Such problem arises, for example, when one considers the soil-structure interaction. However, most of known methods may miss some eigenvalues. Here the authors present a technique of checking missed eigenvalues for eigenvalue problems with damping matrix by using argument principle. The proposed method requires to perform factorization processes at many checking points. To apply this method to large eigenvalue problems, the authors suggest an iterative approach.
