High speed A/D converters. Understanding data converters through SPICE (English)

This book is devoted to undersampled (or Nyquist) A/D converters. Such converters can be used in high speed applications. The author presents several models which will be simple enough for simulation with SPICE. In reality the converters are complicated nonlinear objects. Also ``the physical reasons for the converter's performance'' are included. Chapter one provides a help to decipher the converter's specifications. Then several types of converters are examined: the comparator (chap. 2), ``flash A/D'' (chap. 3), ``sample and hold amplifier'' (chap. 4), ``successive approximation A/D'' (chap. 5), ``folding A/D converters''. The last two chapters (7,8) deal with serial connections of A/D converters.NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEThe chapters end with some problems. The bibliography contains 71 entries. Appendix A contains several SPICE files used throughout the book. Appendix B presents SPICE options and an index ends the book.
