Limit theorems on maximums of Poisson sequences and their applications to queuing theory (English)

The author considers a sequence of independent Poisson random variables \(x_n\) with parameters \(\lambda_n\) and studies the asymptotic properties of \(y_n= \max_{1\leq i\leq n}x_i\) under the dependence on properties of the sequence \(\{\lambda_n\}\). Illustrations are given and applied to investigate the maximal number of claims in the system \(\text{M/G}/\infty\) with time dependent parameters.
