The author proves that the famous Sebastiani-Thom isomorphism for Milnor fibres and their monodromies [\textit{M. Sebastiani} and \textit{R. Thom}, Invent. Math. 13, 90-96 (1971; Zbl 0233.32025)] has a natural generalization in the derived category of bounded constructible complexes of sheaves. The result is local. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEIn the last section difficulties with the global situation and some applications are discussed.
