The paper is devoted to the use of algebraic methods for the analysis of nonlinear-polynomial, discrete control systems. A specific multivariate, polynomial operator approach has been introduced/generalized in a similar way as for continuous systems. The base for this theory is presented along with a few examples. The main result presented in this paper is an extension of the Ritt remainder algorithm for the discrete case, which is also applied to solving the model matching problem.
