On orthogonal realizations for adaptive IIT filters (English)

The paper studies the application of orthogonal realization methods to adaptive IIR filters. For this purpose, the authors introduce orthonormal basic functions for rational systems, which are then applied to the IIR filter realization. Results are obtained for first-order and second-order sections separately. Certain properties of the solution enable the introduction of a simplified gradient algorithm that shows reduced computational complexity. The discussion of the applicability of the method is supported by a number of examples.
