Supplementary variable technique in stochastic models (English)
0 references
In analyzing queueing systems, supplementary variables are usually needed to set them up as Markov processes. The authors give a survey of supplementary variable technique. They point out that the use of remaining time as the supplementary variable is much easier to work with. This technique will give results in a unified way.
