Evolution of the gas bubble considering diffusion and coalescence (English)

Anumerical solution of lifting of isolated spherical gas bubble in a viscous incompressible liquid saturated with solute gas is presented. The liquid contains the gas as fine bubbles uniformly distributed over volume. The influence of the solute gas diffusion and coalescence of heterogeneous bubbles on lift and radial dynamics is taken into account. The problem is governed by three coupled ordinary differential equations for the gas concentration, bubble displacement and bubble deformation (Rayleigh equation). The solution of corresponding initial-boundary value problem is carried out by the Runge-Kutta method.
