A hydrodynamic model of filtration for purification of underground waters from iron compounds (English)
0 references
A hydrodynamic model of filtration is developed in the case of elimination of ironcompounds from water. The model consists of two interrelated blocks: the hydrodynamic (filtration) model, and the model of dynamics of the iron compound in the filter porous medium. Several particular cases of the general model in homogeneous and heterogeneous stages of oxidation are considered. The corresponding initial-boundary value problem is governed by a system of two coupled parabolic equations for the iron concentration and iron hydroxide. This general model is solved numerically, while for some particular models analytical solutions are obtained. A technique for calculation of basic purification parameters is proposed.
