The authors analyze the behaviour of the spectrum of refractive index fluctuations \(E_{n}\) in a turbulent fluid, when fluctuations of the refractive index \(n\) are determined by temperature \(T^{\prime}\) and salinity \(S^{\prime}\) fluctuations. The spectrum \(E_{n}\) is found for homogeneous and isotropic turbulence depending on the dissipation rates of temperature and salinity fluctuations which set the statistical regime of the refractive index fluctuations. ~Parameterization of these dissipation rates is fulfilled by using gradient hypothesis. It is found that the spectrum \(E_{n}\) has regions of anomalous behaviour depending on the contributions of temperature and salinity fluctuations to the refractive index fluctuations. It is demonstrated that local extrema of the spectrum can appear.
