Weak critical sets in cyclic Latin squares (English)
0 references
The authors exhibit a weak critical uniquely completable set in each cyclic Latin square of order at least six, thereby providing the first known example of an infinite family of such sets. Their proof involves generalizations of constructions used by \textit{D. Donovan} and \textit{J. Cooper} [Aequationes Math. 52, No. 1-2, 157-179 (1996; Zbl 0859.05025)] in establishing that the members of a certain infinite family of strong uniquely completable sets in cyclic Latin squares were critical.
