On a well-posed formulation of the two-dimensional Neumann-Kelvin problem for a surface-piercing body (English)
0 references
The authors suggest a new, well-posed formulation of a two-dimensional linear boundary value problem related to the uniform forward motion of a surface-piercing cylinder in an inviscid incompressible heavy fluid of infinite depth, mostly referred to as Neumann-Kelvin problem. The authors employ two supplementary conditions on the water line, and give necessary and sufficient conditions for unique solvability under certain restrictions on the geometry.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0956.00046].
