Scale separation and regularity of the Navier-Stokes equations (English)
0 references
The paper deals with a hierarchy of moments and with the implication of separation of scales on the regularity of solutions of incompressible three-dimensional Navier-Stokes equations. The moments of energy spectrum in wavenumber space are defined by the second moments of higher derivatives of velocity field. These wavenumber moments correspond to small length scales which may be deep in the dissipation range. The time evolution of these length scales is considered when a singularity appears in the solutions to Navier-Stokes equations.NEWLINENEWLINEFor the entire collection see [Zbl 0952.00057].
