Development of applied software package ``Akord'' for computation of problems with free boundaries (English)
0 references
The ``Akord'' software package is intended for supporting applied investigations in the hydrodynamics of surface waves. A numerical simulation of wave propagation is performed in the framework of the mathematical model of potential two-dimensional flows of an ideal incompressible fluid with free boundaries. The solver of the package considered is based on the boundary element method and on the complex boundary element method for the numerical solution of plane and axisymmetric problems, respectively. The technique used by the authors is described in detail in the books by \textit{C.~A.~Brebbia}, \textit{J.~C.~F.~Telles}, and \textit{L.~C.~Wrobel} [Boundary element techniques. Theory and applications in engineering, Springer-Verlag, Berlin, etc. (1984; Zbl 0556.73086)] and by \textit{T.~Hromadka} and \textit{C.~Lai} [The complex variable boundary element method in engineering analysis, Springer-Verlag, New York, etc. (1987; Zbl 0609.65078)]. Together with the solver, the software developed contains a preprocessor and postprocessor for processing input data and for graphical representation of the numerical results. As an application example of the package described, an evolution problem is considered for which the free surface has a semicircular cavity at the initial instant.
