Uniform approximation for sublattices of \(C^*(X)\) (English)

As a completion of the research performed by \textit{M. I. Garrido} and \textit{F. Montalvo} [Acta Math. Hung. 62, No. 3-4, 199-208 (1993; Zbl 0797.54028)], the authors give some characterizations for the uniform closure of a sublattice of \(C^*(X)\). These may be viewed as non-compact extensions of the ones due to \textit{F. F. Bonsall} [Proc. Lond. Math. Soc., III. Ser. 10, 122-140 (1960; Zbl 0122.11502)].
