The mathematical works of Ákos Császár (English)
0 references
Ákos Császár, a noted topologist, has published a fundamental book on general topology (translated into English, French and German), and an influential textbook on real analysis, as well as 125 research papers on these two topics. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEIn 1969 he defined the notion of syntopological space, a common generalization of topological, uniform and neighbourhood (Efremovich) space. Since then he has worked out the theory of syntopological spaces in several papers. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEWith Miklós Laczkovich he introduced the concept of discrete and equal convergence for real functions. NEWLINENEWLINENEWLINEBesides the above-mentioned themes, Ákos Császár's papers deal with uniform, quasi-uniform, bitopological spaces, \(C(X)\) function sets, semigroups of continuous functions, and merotopies.
