Excitation of the edge mode in an elastic half strip (Q2714548)

The authors consider an elastic half-strip with height \(h\). The property of isotropic medium are characterized by the shear modulus \(\mu\), Poisson ratio \(\nu\) and the velocities of the longitudinal and transverse waves \(c_1\) and \(c_2\). The excitation of the edge mode occurs due to the constraining force applied to the strip end. Considered are the longitudinal and bending oscillations. It is shown that the edge resonance rate increases when the load form and the edge mode are coordinated.
