The author investigates the connected system of equations of linear dynamic thermoelasticity in view of the finite velocity of heat distribution. The wave theory of propagation of the wave field discontinuities is applied. For the application the non-stationary strains are investigated which appear near a hollow elliptic cylinder under step force loading of its surface.
