Vortex damping of sloshing in tanks with baffles. (Q2714658)

The paper deals with the oscillations of a liquid with free surface in a tank containing construction elements with sharp edges. The surface tension of the liquid is not taken into account. The liquid is assumed incompressible and low-viscous and the near-wall boundary layer is assumed thin. During the tank oscillation the breakdown of the boundary layer from the sharp edges of the construction elements occurs and the vortexes take place. The author establishes the dependences for calculating the intensity coefficients for the velocities on the sharp edges. The nimerical results are compared with the experimental data.
