The authors consider the dispersion relations, energy transition velocity and orthogonal and completeness relations for a two-layer structure. In this case the Boussinesq approximations are not used. It is assumed that the wave perturbations exist in the exponentially stratified medium. This medium is bounded by a homogeneous layer with finite thickness without density jump.
