Difraction of normal modes in composite and stepped elastic waveguides (English)

The paper deals with the compound elastic waveguide with a step consisting of two halfstrips of thickness \(h_1\) and \(h_2\) \(\,(h_1\geq h_2)\,\) with different elastic constants and densities. The authors propose the method of calculating the difraction of the Lamb waves on the vertical boundaries of the elastic waveguides junction. Besides, in this cases the property of generalized orthogonality of the normal modes is used. Numerical results are presented for the step waveguide glued to the nondeformable support.
