The author discusses the statement of the quasistatic problem of the mechanics of elastoplastic bodies with weakening zones and boundary conditions of contact type. Theorem on the uniqueness of solution to the formulated boundary value problem is proved. The maxima and minima of the functionals are investigated when the kinematically or statically possible and real fields coincide.
