A Single-Input-Single-Output (SISO) Sugeno fuzzy model of the zeroth order is considered. Beta Fuzzy Logic Systems (BFLS) are introduced in order to show that they are universal approximators. Numerical comparisons between the BFLS and other classes of widely used fuzzy logic systems are given.
