This book gives a very nice introduction with outlooks to the theory of Riemann surfaces, holomorphic functions of several variables, differential topology and theory of singularities. It is based on courses of lectures given by the author at the University of Hannover. The basic facts and recent results are well-balanced. It makes the book interesting and helpful for a wide audience of researchers and students.
